It’s hard to believe it’s nearly a year since Quanta won the MacRobert Award - we are still on a high.
Looking back on the magnificent past winners and what they have gone on to accomplish, we are so honoured to have received the award and join this incredible list of successful and innovative UK engineering companies. The platform has brought invaluable attention and awareness to the issues of today’s kidney care and how the Quanta™ Dialysis System can greatly benefit the lives of dialysis patients everywhere.
The Academy’s awards ceremony was an incredibly professional event of the highest calibre which created a sense of suspense and placed us engineers out of our normal ‘laboratory’s comfort zone! As experienced engineers, we knew that there would most likely never be a second chance in our careers to achieve such a prestigious, renowned award - which made the entire night unforgettable for all. The first few days after winning went by in the blink of an eye, with numerous television and radio appearances and interviews with national and international media. This remarkable media attention allowed us to spread Quanta’s vision of making dialysis more accessible to every patient in every setting, while recognising and solidifying the ground-breaking work our team had accomplished.

As an engineering team, winning The MacRobert Award was validation by the judging panel, who represent the great and good of UK engineering, of our 14 years of hard work and dedication. The win ignited a special sense of self-worth and credibility for the team and has in turn reinvigorated our efforts both within the business and our external outreach activities with universities and schools to support the next generation of great UK engineers.
Much of the year since winning the award has been focused on the consolidation of lessons learnt. We’ve been continuing to deliver exceptional customer service and patient support, and preparations to scale-up our activities to support more machines in the field, especially in the US, are ongoing. Innovation continues to be a high priority for the Quanta team and winning the award has re-ignited our engineers’ passion for manufacturing technology, which in turn brings new challenges and learnings. It’s like going back to school!
As winners of the MacRobert Award, Quanta was given an invaluable platform that not only validated the Quanta Dialysis System as a superior piece of technology, but also showcased the success and possibilities of the Quanta Dialysis System to audiences all over the world. Through numerous press articles, interviews, television and radio appearances, and social media efforts, Quanta was able to reach a much larger audience than ever before on a regional, national, and international level. This reach will play a crucial role in building customer relationships and our ability to make a difference in patients' lives everywhere.
Quanta Dialysis Technologies® is eternally grateful to The Royal Academy for the recognition and attention The MacRobert Award has brought the company, allowing us to continue our mission of transforming the world kidney care and truly making a difference in the lives of dialysis patients everywhere.
